Respecting you and the data you share with us is really important to us. This Privacy Notice sets out the ways in which we use your personal information, your rights and the options available to you.
Way of Hope Foundation (registered charity number 1015557) is committed to protecting your privacy. At all times we aim to respect any personal information you share with us, or that we receive from others, and keep it safe.
Certain personal information will be required by us so that we may continue to contact you through newsletters and reports to keep you informed of our work; fundraising activities and appeals . Also, in cases where you have donated to our work and consented to us gift aiding your donation, we need to include your contact details as part of any claim we make to HMRC.
However, the provision of your personal information to us is voluntary. We will not share your data and you can unsubscribe at any time.
2. When Do We Collect Information About You?
A. When You Give It to Us Directly
For example, personal information that you submit through our website by making a donation; or that you give to us when you donate to us or communicate with us by email, phone or letter.
B. When We Obtain It Indirectly
For example, your personal information may be shared with us by third parties who are known to us and approved by us who may (a) collect donations from you on behalf of Way of Hope or (b) forward your details to us because you have requested information from us Where we have not already done so, we will notify you when we receive personal information about you from them and tell you how and why we intend to use that personal information.
Should you choose to donate to us through a third party website such as Justgiving your details will remain anonymous and we will never seek to obtain them

4. Why Do We Need Your Personal Information?
We collect and use your personal information in the following ways:
A. To Inform You About and Promote Our Work
When you give us your permission to do so, we will also email or write to you with reports about our activities, requests for support and anything else we feel may be of interest to you.
B. To Support Claims for Gift Aiding Donations
Where we have received written consent from you to claim Gift Aid from your donation we will include your name and postal address on HMRC claim forms as required by law.

The GDPR requires us to rely on one or more “lawful basis” to use your personal information. We consider the basis listed below to be relevant:
We will not disclose any of your information to anyone other than HMRC and this will be for the for the purpose of completing a claim for Gift Aiding your donation and this will only be done if we have written consent from you do so.
6. How Long Will We Hold a Record of Your Information?
We keep your data for as long as it is necessary to provide the information that you have asked for, and to meet our legal obligations to HMRC and other accounting regulations.
However, if your personal information is no longer required in connection with such purpose(s), or you notify us that you no longer wish to receive information from us, we will remove it from our list

Where we rely on your consent to use your personal information, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. This includes the right to ask us to stop using your personal information for marketing purposes, or to unsubscribe from our email list at any time.

Right of access: You can write to us to ask for confirmation of what personal information we hold on you and to request a copy of that personal information. Provided we are satisfied that you are entitled to see the personal information requested and we have successfully confirmed your identity, we will provide you with your personal information subject to any exemptions that apply.

Way of Hope Foundation is committed to keeping your personal information safe and secure. We have appropriate and proportionate security policies and organisational and technical measures in place to help protect your personal information.
Your personal information is only accessible by appropriately trained staff, volunteers and contractors, and stored on secure servers which have features to prevent unauthorised access.
